And a great time was had by all!

Yes, another Blue & Gold Banquet has come and gone, with lots of awards handed out, especially the coveted "2010" rank patches.  Thanks and farewell to our Cubmaster Ben Klinefelter and Webelos II Leader Andrea Klinefelter.  They have been tremendous pillars of this pack ever since enthusiastically taking leadership of the pack's Tigers in 2003, and they will be sorely missed!  Thanks to new Cubmaster Carter for stepping up to take over as our our new leader.   Thanks to Wendy Palermo and Ashley Epple for putting together a great venue and feast for the pack.  Thanks to Boy Scout Order of the Arrow members for providing a memorable crossing over for our Webelos IIs.  Thanks to Boy Scout Troop 1717 for accepting them in to the troop.  And thanks to all our den and pack leaders and volunteers who make this program happen.

Hunter Davin, Jacob Dean, Luke Klinefelter, Cody Sharp, Jeremiah Silenzi and Ryan Straightiff received their Webelos II rank badges as well as Arrow of Light Awards. The Arrow of Light is the highest honor presented in Cub Scouts.  

The scouts participated in an Arrow of Light Ceremony conducted by the Order of the Arrow. During the ceremony, the boys affirmed their commitment to the values of scouting. Leaving behind their Cub Scout days, each one symbolically “crossed over” and joined a Boy Scout Troop.

A total of 40 scouts in Pack 578 received rank badges. Ethan Dunn, Brendan Fritter, Jared Kibel, Joshua Lassen, Liam McDoniel, Calvin Michaelis, Joshua Menders and Nathan Weston earned the Webelos I badge. Caden Akers, Gregory Bolduc, Alex Cooper, Nicholas Duran, Steven Dean, Cameron Garrison, Kahlil Gardner, Zachary Hines, Lucas Michaelis, Will Robertson and Joey Wooten earned the Bear Cub badge. Zachary Akers, Ian Doepp, Thomas Epple, Brendan Gross, Caleb Menders, Christian Moore, Alex Pawlica, Andrew Pellicano, Chase Tomlinson and Garnett Woody Jr. earned the Wolf Cub badge. Owen Kibel, Logan Parker, Evan Sirekis, Bradley Warren and Marcus Woody earned the Tiger Cub badge.
 
The awards and rank badges were presented at Pack 578’s annual Blue and Gold Banquet, which this year celebrated the theme “Happy Birthday USA,” in honor of the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts of America.
